Real People, Real Stories
“As a woman who has been street homeless for over 3 months, I have needed the help and support from the WSUP workers and facilities. Hot showers and clean clothing has been my priority, it helps me feel nice and respectable. There is never any judgement and the volunteers are willing to go the extra mile. They have great understanding of what homeless women need."

“When I first moved to Woolwich Arsenal, I felt completely alone. I was far from my support network, struggling with both physical and mental disabilities, and I lost all sense of hope. I didn’t see a future for myself.
Then I found WSUP and met Kate. She took the time to listen, to check in, and to show that someone genuinely cared. Because of her support, I’m learning how to live again — with self-love, confidence, and purpose. I truly believe I wouldn’t be here today without Kate’s care and compassion.”

Our Community in Action
About the Appeal
This winter, Woolwich Service Users Project is rallying our community to stand together in compassion and solidarity, supporting those facing hardship, poverty and homelessness through the coldest months of the year.
At present, we have over 800 guests registered with at WSUP. Around 30% have informed us that they are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless, many of whom require additional support including mental health, drug, and alcohol services. At WSUP, we believe that ever person deserves dignity, warmth, and care. Our drop-in centre in Woolwich provides hot meals, showers, haircuts, clean clothing and a safe place to rest, alongside wellbeing sessions and practical guidance on housing, healthcare, employment and mental health.
About WSUP
Our Vision
A community free from hardship and housing instability.
Our Ambition
Our ambition is to prevent and ultimately end homelessness within our local community. We are achieving this by delivering compassionate and practical support services that empower individuals to rebuild their lives with dignity and stability.
What We Do
WSUP is a safe, inclusive space for guests facing hardship and housing instability to drop in. We provide hot meals, showers and haircuts, as well as a clothing bank and laundry service. But we are more than a drop-in service; through strong partnerships with healthcare providers, outreach teams, drug and alcohol services, housing organisations and peer networks, we enable people to improve their health, rebuild relationships and move towards stability.
